How do you solve the umbrella problem when canvassing?

You’re out on the doorsteps canvassing and there’s rain in the sky, on your face and under your feet. Your hands are full with canvass cards (or smartphone with canvassing app), calling leaflets, postal vote forms and more.

A hat doesn’t keep your bits of paper dry, an umbrella requires an extra hand you don’t have and this look really doesn’t work:
