Haringey Labour bravely breaks away from the cliché political canvassing photos

You almost certainly know the clichéd canvassing photo. Large number of smiling canvassers for a political party smile at the camera. Such photos have a point to them but the format is very common.

A round of applause therefore to the Labour team in St Ann’s ward, Haringey, for breaking away from this format and replacing it with one we should call the lament of the lonely canvasser:

Of course, I’m sure this is all to do with breaking photographic conventions and nothing to do with lack of support within the Labour Party following the highly controversial ward selection involving the Labour Party’s Head of Press and allegations of packing the Labour ward electorate. The St Ann’s selection has led one Labour Haringey councillor to label it “a travesty of local democracy”.
