Who do you want holding the balance of power in the next Parliament?

Do you want Nigel Farage propping up David Cameron?

That’s the question posed by the (rather clever) spoof Blukip website launched yesterday by the Liberal Democrats, highlighting the extreme views held by Ukip candidates, DUP MPs and in the ranks of the Conservative Party.

Views such as those in these spoof stories on the site – spoof stories, but real views:

Resurrecting the death penalty!

We’re not inviting them to our country, but when it comes to crime prevention, we could learn a lot from the people of China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, North Korea and the US.

That’s because, unlike us, they’ve always fought crime with – well, with another crime – by killing their criminals.

And as everyone knows, crime in the US basically doesn’t exist anymore.

Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Steve.

The Bible was not written by someone who was a fan of Gloria Gaynor. It was written by a man. A proper man who probably had a manly beard. And not one of those hipster beards either.

The fact is, gay “marriage” is not something to be proud of. It’s not natural, it’s not trendy and it’s not clever.

Making the young value hard work

Well, quite frankly, we want to STOP giving to under 25s. Our young people need to learn that there is no such thing as a free lunch in Blukip Britain, and that they can’t expect those who’ve worked all their lives to help them in the game of life.

We’re in favour of ending all benefit payments for under 25 year olds including housing benefits, unemployment benefits and child support payments.

No wonder then that Nick Clegg said:

Imagine what Britain could become if the Prime Minister had to bargain with Nigel Farage and his friends for votes.

Our public services cut to the bone. Our communities divided. Our shared British values of decency, tolerance and generosity cast aside.

Instead of Liberal Democrats holding the balance of power and using it to keep the Government in the liberal centre ground, Nigel Farage and his friends in the Conservatives and the DUP would drag Britain further and further to the right.

So ask yourself this: Do you want Liberal Democrats to keep the Government in the centre or Nigel Farage and his friends forcing David Cameron to lurch to the right?

There is a right wing threat to Britain.

Who holds the balance of power in Britain the morning after polling day matters.

The only people standing between BLUKIP and real power are a small number of Liberal Democrat candidates.

The only way to get a stronger economy and a fairer society is to vote Liberal Democrat on May 7th.
