Labour lose seat to Conservatives in this week’s one by-election

Only one principal authority council by-election this week, in the Midlands for Sandwell Council:

Thanks to Nicholas Bradley standing for the Liberal Democrats, the party contested the ward after seven contests without a Lib Dem on the ballot.

ALDC has also started reporting a selection of town, parish and community council election results. With all the usual caveats about how only those that the Lib Dems do best in tend to get noticed, this win is worth a particular mention:
