Boris Johnson shows he’s not up to the job of Prime Minister
Messing up a press conference is in itself a fairly small matter compared with people’s health (save when it brings down a country’s ruling system). But it can be deeply symbolic of a government riddled with incompetence.
Govt has once again been an utter shambles this weekend – through dither and delay they have cost jobs and lives.
PM must ensure people have the support they need through this lockdown – and start work on a UK wide plan for Christmas. https://t.co/2S4SFfuPFW

Wasn't 4pm.
Wasn't 5pm.
Wasn't 6pm.
Wasn't 6:30pm.
Wasn't 6:45pm.
Wasn't competent.— Mark Pack 🔶 (@markpack) October 31, 2020
Well, they didn't take the extra time to put together a clear set of slides.

They should have outsourced the press conference to Peston.

Feel like the Prime Minister is addressing his MPs here rather than the rest of us with his emphasis on how the risk is not taking coronavirus seriously enough.

Welcome news about furlough extension- although it is not extended long enough.
But what about self-employed workers, including #excludedUK – Boris Johnson has left millions of people with no idea how they will pay bills, heat their homes or feed their families.

We must break the cycle of ‘boom and bust’ lockdowns. The Government’s approach to the pandemic has already led us to a worst-of-both-worlds situation in which we have among the highest number of deaths and worst economic outlook anywhere. (1/4)
