The headline mostly says it: there's a new local blog, about wildlife in Islington. It's called, drum roll please.........., Islington Wildlife. Looks quite fun and interesting so far and I like the touch of having sketches of the post authors at the bottom of each post.

That's the challenge I ended up setting Contact Islington during 2009:

76 reports of dumped rubbish from the corporate sector (e.g. abandoned materials after road works)
18 broken street lights

Recycling fact of the day
According to industry estimates, the amount of wrapping paper thrown away in the UK at Christmas could stretch to the moon if each sheet was laid end to end.
